Several children diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy Hemiplegic were recruited for the first ever Cast Camp held at the Centre this summer. Grandview Children's Centre's "Achievement Beads Program" provides children with an opportunity to focus on something positive with their Botox injections, which can often be a stressful and anxious time for some. It was modeled after the Sick Kids Bravery Beads Program; and allows participating clients, to choose a bead to represent every ‘poke’ they've received at the Centre’s Muscle Tone Clinic.
Durham Regional Police Children's Games
The Durham Regional Police Children's Games are a one-day event specifically designed for children with physical challenges. With the focus on FUN, 4-16 year old kids compete in teams. Scheduled events enable all the children to participate, regardless of skill or mobility, and contribute to an overall team score.
